But have you ever wondered wellness also means wellness of mind, along with healthy body wellness also means a HEALTHY MIND.
Our mind does not take rest even for a second. We all are fully aware of this fact that there is not even a single minute when we are without thoughts. Constantly dwelling between past and future the mind is busy working even when the body falls asleep.
Imagine a machinery which is running 24 hours since the date you purchased it, you have not switched it off even once, what will be the result?
The same is happening with our mind…….. perhaps because no one ever taught us that please give your mind also rest… everyone said sleep is essential because it gives rest to the body so we all are very careful about sleep… about giving rest to our body…. but today lets decide that along with body everyday i will also give rest to my mind.
So many articles are published daily, so many books and magazines are there which speak about meditation for resting mind, so many techniques are there but here i will share with you only one, the most simplest, the most easiest and the MOST EFFECTIVE way for resting the mind. Don’t simply trust on my words, kindly apply it and then feel the results yourself, feel the amount of freshness which you experience after giving rest to your mind and feel the amount of energy which you get after giving rest to your mind.
We give rest to our body daily for around 6 to 8 hours and lets start today giving rest to our mind with only 5 minutes. Increase the time limit as per your experience. The more you experience freshness the time limit will increase all the more.
Just 5 minutes –
Close your eyes, have a big smile on your face and focus on your breath. For a while feel that you also breathe.
No strains, no pressures, no deep breathing, no slow breathing, no deep inhale, no slow exhale, just watch your breath.
Set a timer for 5 minutes and don’t get up before 5 minutes and see your breath. Know that you are inhaling and exhaling. Keep taking normal breath and just feel it. Also, very very important, keep a smile on your lips throughout.
The mind since it has never rested before will go on its trips even in these 5 minutes and as soon as you realize that you are on a mind trip simply ask your mind to come back and again focus on your breath. Don’t fight with your mind, don’t become angry with it that even in 5 minutes it goes here and there, very lovingly ask your thoughts to come around breath, tell your thoughts everything else after 5 minutes now let me just watch my breath. Handle your mind with lots and lots and lots of love.
Remember simply watch, don’t do anything with ur breath, neither increase nor decrease, let it be the way it is… Keep smiling and watching for……… just 5 minutes!!
After 5 minutes:
Feel the sensations in your mind and body. Your mind will tell you if it feels fresh or not……. Your body will tell you if it feels a sudden sensation of fresh energy or not.
And if your mind and body says yes…….. then Hip Hip Hurray…… thats it…. give your mind this rest daily and feel the amazing experiences throughout the day!!
And last but not the least, for our hectic schedule workers, you can try this exercise while you are on your way to work (Provided the driver is driving the car) or when in office you are bored with your work, sit back on your chair, close your eyes and try this)
